An extraordinary collaboration between Alisa Ruby Bash and Japan's Dub Spirits, taking her mantra Har Hare Hari and infusing its rhythms with a deep dub treatment that doesn't so much transform the original as bring out new textures and, for the listener, new reasons to love it.
Dub Spirits bring bass to the forefront of the track, adding further sonic dimensions to a recording with a rhythmic simplicity that belies everything going on beneath its surface. The original chant comes from an ancient sacred mantra in Kundalini Yoga, linking creation, flow and manifestation.
Whichever angle you approach it from, it's an enticing piece of music and you can hear it in my Dandelion Radio this month, now streaming on-demand here.
