Radicall - It's Time (Willow Street)

This was actually released back in March and Radicall has released a slew of great tunes since then, but I discovered this 12" EP late in the day and can't stop going back to it.

From Poland, Radicall blends hardcore and jungle influences and, like all the best dance music, creates something entirely new out of the fusion. 'Built from samples sourced from different worlds,' say the sleeve notes and you can almost believe it. It's like an electronic version of some of Dylan's or Gene Clark's best work where you swear you begin to hear sounds that aren't even there.

OK, so every analogy breaks down somewhere. This is nothing like Dylan or Gene Clark and it's not really like anything else either.

You can hear the opening track, My Spear in my November Dandelion show, which is on-demand here.

In session this month: Diane Marie Kloba

I can't remember when we last broadcast a session from Diane Marie Kloba in the show but, whenever it was, it's been too long. This month we try to make up for lost time by featuring a new exclusive five-track session from one of my favourite artists.

From Chicago, Diane has a sound that is unmistakably her own yet, with each new album, she seems to reveal different facets to that sound while somehow retaining her own unique identify. For me, there are very few artists in the world who can do this and that's why I tend to approach every new Diane Marie Kloba release like a kid approaches presents on Christmas morning.

Needless to say, that applies to the sessions as well, so to have the opportunity to introduce a new five-track session to the world is something very special indeed. Among the tracks in this session is a new version of her glorious Time is Out of Rhythm, which appeared on last year's magnificent Red Sun album, which should be enough to make you want to listen. As for the rest, you'll need to find out by listening to the show, which has just become available on-demand here. Otherwise, it'd be like spoiling Christmas.

Hear more from Diane Marie Kloba here.
