I was fortunate to be present at one of The Spook School's earliest gigs to witness the stirrings of a band set to become loved by several of us at Dandelion Radio, culminating in an appearance at number 15 in the 2015 Festive Fifty with Binary. Then, just as it appeared world domination (or at least some kind of impact) was on the horizon, they announced the split.
Will the rest of the album live up to its promise? Given the individuals responsible for it, it's hard to imagine it won't. There's an early chance to check out some of the tracks if you can get to their reunion show at The Old Blue Last in London on 3 October.
